Mama Joyce’s youngest son, Jeremiah, loved and cared for the neighborhood children, often helping their reading and playing soccer with them. Jerry and Mama Joyce would invite them to stay for dinner. Soon Mama’s home became their second home and a place of refuge.
In 2010, Jerry was killed in a hit-and-run accident while on a pedestrian path in Nairobi, Kenya. To fill the void in Mama Joyce’s heart God soon sent the very same children.
Always one with a kind and compassionate heart, Mama Joyce began feeding the kids for regular meals despite being a widow with no income. In no time at all, more and more hungry and needy children began to come.
