Beatrice's story is a powerful testament to resilience, compassion, and the drive to make a difference. Her journey began in the Kisii region of Kenya and extended into the Maasai culture of Narok, where she grew up in a 500-square-foot home with five siblings, facing the hardships of life without running water or electricity. Despite these challenges, her parents’ unwavering devotion to helping those in need was a profound influence on her. Their home was a refuge for street children, released convicts, and neighbors, embodying a spirit of hospitality and compassion.
Growing up in a home with limited resources but abundant generosity, Beatrice was deeply influenced by her parents' commitment to helping others. This early exposure to service shaped her future endeavors, leading her to become a missionary teaching the gospel of love and unity, focused on critical issues such as AIDS awareness and the fight against harmful practices like early child marriage and female genital mutilation.
Her transition to the U.S. did not diminish her passion for service. In San Antonio, she continued to advocate for refugees as an interpreter and took on a significant role with the missions’ board at Oak Hills Church. Her work there further reflects her dedication to supporting those in need.
The establishment of a children’s home in Narok in 2016 and the co-founding of Jeremiah’s Family Ministry in 2017, mark significant milestones in her mission to uplift underserved children. Her pursuit of further education, including non-profit leadership and bookkeeping training, shows her commitment to continuous growth and effective service.
Balancing her responsibilities as a mother of three with her professional and volunteer work, Beatrice skillfully integrates her African heritage with her new life in America. Her journey is an inspiring example of how personal experience and cultural values can drive impactful change across different communities.
Tranise first became involved with Jeremiah’s Family Ministry in 2018 on a short-term mission. It was there that her love for this ministry began. With over five years of experience working in the non-profit sector, Tranise is an expert at delivering strategies and concepts that help drive the mission of a non-profit forward. This is bolstered by her experience as an event manager, marketer, and, currently, a researcher with Ascension Seton hospital. She believes in the importance of advocating for change for those who are often forgotten and strongly believes in Jeremiah’s Family Ministry’s (JFM) mission of changing poverty to promise.
Not only has Tranise had the opportunity to work for large non-profits she is also involved her community through serving on the Girl Advocacy League with the Girls Empowerment Network and as a singles leadership member with Mosaic Church Austin.
In addition to her extensive career and volunteer experience, Tranise has completed training with Austin Bridge Builders Alliance “Emergent Leader Initiative Program” and the Strategic Life Alignment course. Tranise holds a BA in Social Science from the University of North Texas.
Kenneth is a native born Texan and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He grew up in a family business and later owned his own business, spent over a decade in the financial service industry and 15 years as a professional project manager. His passion for getting things done, building things from the ground up, and helping people to transform their lives uniquely positions him as the Treasurer and Operations Manager for Jeremiah’s Family Ministry.
Outside of his professional career Kenneth is a devoted husband and father of three. One of his greatest blessings in life is being able to know another country as he does and participate in transforming lives there in Kenya. Since 2010, he has embraced a contemplative prayer life and has come to the realization that faith cannot simply be about the vertical relationship with God but also must include the horizontal faith of works to the impoverished, oppressed, and overlooked (James 2:14-16). Jeremiah’s Family Ministry’s mission of overcoming poverty through the provision of a loving home, a meaningful education, and spiritual transformation has co-opted his heart and inspires him to be a better husband, father, worker, servant-leader, and pray-er.
